High Bay Lighting Low Bay Light Fixtures

High bay & Low bay Lighting introduction

If you need to light a large indoor space like warehouse, workshop, gym, retail stores, grocery stores, LED Bay Lighting would be your first options. LED high bays and LED low bays are energy-saving lighting solutions as LED fixtures have exceptional 100,000 hour rated lifetimes and are reliable replacements for fluorescent linear and metal halide fixtures. LED high bays go up to 30,000 lumens with less power consumption to help save on energy and maintenance costs.

The use of high bay lighting is only suitable for ceilings meeting a certain height requirement. If a location uses high bay in a low bay ceiling, the location will be overpowered with the illumination and on the reverse side, if a location uses low bay fixtures in a high bay ceiling, the end result will be inadequate light spread and poor illumination in the space. 



High bay lights are usually use to a large indoor area with ceiling height greater than 15-20 feet. While low bay are used in large rooms with a ceiling height between 12 - 20 feet. High Bay lights are usually found in warehouses, factories, and hangars, and Low Bay fixtures are found more in retail stores, grocery stores, and workshops.

Types of LED High Bay & Low Bay Lighting


Round LED High Bay
Round LED high bays come in the traditional circular shape with optional aluminum or prismatic reflector. 
Round LED high bay fixtures replace high bays that use metal halide and HPS bulbs for a more energy efficient lighting for warehouses, gymnasiums and hangars. These types of high bays have the LED chips on the underside of the fixture covered with tempered glass and with the LED driver attached on the side. The advantage of this is to have a separate heat sink for the fixture and the driver for better cooling and to prevent overheating. Round high bays can be mounted with a hook and cord, junction box or pendant. LED high bays can replace 250 watts metal halide, 400 watts metal halide and 1000 watts metal halide high bays

                                                                                                          

UFO LED High Bay

UFO LED high bays are similar to round LED high bays in replacing metal halide and high pressure sodium bulbs. UFO high bay lights are ideal for pendant mounting or with a hook and cord in warehouses, arenas, airports and swimming pools. Unlike round high bays, UFO high bays have the driver on top of the fixture with the heat sink. Optional accessories also include the aluminum reflector, prismatic reflector and high bay lens and high bay wireguard. These LED high bays can replace 250 watts metal halide and 400 watts metal halide fixtures.



Linear LED High Bay

Linear LED high bays are used to replace traditional high bays that use fluorescent F54T5HO or F32T8 tube lamps. These LED high bay fixtures are constructed with aluminum or steel with the LED strips attached to it plus an optional clear lens or frosted lens to diffuse the light. Linear LED high bays can be used for warehouse aisles and big box retail centers to save more energy and increase cost savings compared to fluorescent high bays. Linear high bay lights can be mounted with a junction box for surface mounting or hook and chain or cord for suspended mounting. Switch to LED bay lighting to replace 2-lamp T5HO, 4-lamp T8, 6-lamp T8, 8-lamp T8 and 10-lamp T5HO fluorescent high bays.

LED Low Bay

LED low bays are used for small-scale bay lighting that doesn‘t require as much light as typical LED high bays. LED low bay lighting is ideal for small warehouses or convention centers with low ceilings. Low bay lights are also used for parking garages, aisle lighting, and in workshops and workstations as substitute for LED shop lights. LED low bay fixtures typically replace 175 watts to 250 watts metal halide or fluorescent lamps. Choose from linear LED low bays, round LED low bays and UFO LED low bays.



LED Retrofit for High Bay

LED retrofit bulbs are alternative ways to replace metal halide round high bays with LED. LED retrofit bulbs are high-output LED bulbs that can match the lumens of traditional high bays at a fraction of the wattage. These retrofit for high bay bulbs can screw in to the socket of the existing high bay, removing the need to replace the whole fixture and minimizing installation costs. LED retrofit bulbs for HID can either be direct replacement ballast compatible (used with existing ballast) or bypass ballast (remove existing ballast) installation. Choose between E26 edison base or E39 mogul base. LED retrofit bulbs can replace 150 watts metal halide, 175 watts metal halide, 250 watts metal halide, 400 watts metal halide and 1000 watts metal halide high bays.



LED Fixtures

LED high bay lighting is the most energy-efficient option on the market. Designed for warehouse lighting, recreation centers, hangars, and storage facilities, these indoor commercial lighting fixtures improve visibility and worker safety while enhancing productivity. LED high bay fixtures are instant on and do not lose life hours from constant on-off cycles the way metal halide (HID) and fluorescent fixtures do. Since the rated life hours of LEDs are significantly higher than other light sources, they do not need to be replaced as often which cuts down on maintenance and replacement costs. The higher efficacy of high bay LED‘s means less power is consumed to achieve the same light output produced by traditional light sources, which helps you save money on energy costs.
